Frozen desserts are my go-to when I need a little cheering up. And it must run in the family because my kids usually request (some sort of) ice cream after a tough day at school.
Food is my love language! So when one of my kids (or myself or Dustin) feels a little off, I’ll often head to the kitchen with the perfect recipe in mind.
I look for recipes, specifically, that won’t bombard my family with weird preservatives, excessive sugar, and artificial ingredients.
And while I’m not totally opposed to dairy, I realize that many people are trying to cut back.
So, I’m writing this post for YOU if you want to find dairy-free, clean-eating, lower-calorie frozen desserts that are also very simple to make.
Shall we begin?

Which Frozen Dessert Has No Dairy Products?
Where do I start? There’s a whole world of fantastic options you can try. Whether you’ve recently gone dairy-free / vegan, or you’ve been in this lifestyle for a while now…good news! You’ll never run out of choices.
Here are some samples of non-dairy frozen desserts:
- Dairy-free chocolate ice cream
- Dairy-free fruit ice cream
- Fruit popsicles
- Ice pops
- Sorbets
- No-bake frozen cakes
And I’ll be sharing more easy recipes you can try at home below.
What Is The Healthiest Alternative To Ice Cream?
“Nice cream” is my healthy and satisfying alternative to sugar-loaded, fattening ice creams.
It’s a simplified version of ice cream without questionable ingredients. It nixes saturated fats, refined sugars (and other unhealthy additives you commonly find in store-bought ice cream). Oh yeah, it’s also dairy-free!
Another healthy but equally yummy alternative is homemade sorbet if you want to go the cool and refreshing route.

Does Dairy Free Ice Cream Taste Good?
Dairy-free ice cream can taste amazing. And there are ways to substitute the cream or milk that gives traditional ice cream its smooth richness.
In my “Nice Cream,” for example, the banana provides that creamy, rich texture.
You also have the option of using full-fat coconut cream for that luxurious and silky taste, which is what I did in my Pineapple Coconut Ice Cream.

Is Dairy Free The Same As Vegan?
Nope. Dairy-free diets exclude all kinds of dairy products. So anything coming from animal milk such as yogurt, butter, ice cream, and cheese is not allowed.
Vegan diets avoid all kinds of products from animals. We’re talking everything; eggs, meat, fish, and dairy.
So while all vegan food is dairy-free…not all dairy-free food is vegan, if that makes sense?
